simply elvis

The next exhibition at Proud Central is simply entitled “Elvis” and comprises solely of photographs taken by Alfred Wertheimer.

Initially asked to photograph Elvis on a one-day assignment in 1956, Wertheimer was so enthralled by the rising star, that he continued taking photographs of him during this pivotal year. The result is a collection of images that sees Elvis at home, on stage, with fans and in the recording studio. These photographs offer a unique look at the young man on the brink of stardom and no future photographer would ever have this relaxed access to him again.

you can also buy this one for £1100.

The exhibition runs from 18th November to 31 January at Proud Central. Visit the Proud website for further details.
